Baseball: 4 Eagles Named All-South Region
Four TCJ Eagles Baseball players earned their way onto the All-South Region roster for their outstading play in 2026. Juniors Gavin Williams, Gadriel Burgos, Larson Lott, and Jacob Brigman performed mightily throughout the season, and their contributions were recognized by the coaches of all South Region teams.
Jr. Gavin Williams, OF
Williams batted .405 this season with a team record-tying 5 home runs and 30 RBI. He had 13 doubles and a triple for a slugging percentage of .664. His 20 walks and 4 hit batsmen give him an on-base percentage of .500. Williams also stole 8 bases in 9 attempts and scored 39 runs. Three of his five home runs came against South Region opponents, including one in the South Region tournament, during which he hit .545 in three games.
All this came in 142 plate appearances and 116 official at bats. In the field, Williams committed only 1 error in 39 total chances and threw out 2 base runners.
Jr. Gadriel Burgos, 1B/DH
In his first season at Trinity, Burgos was in the Top 10 in the NCCAA in RBI for most of the season until the Eagles went 10 days in between games in April. Still, he finished with a team-leading 43 runs batted in and was second in home runs with 4; one of those blasts was a walk-off shot. Burgos batted .343 overall with an on-base percentage of .447. He also had 6 doubles.
Burgos batted .363 with a home run in the South Region tournament.
Jr. Larson Lott, C/DH
Lott was instrumental in keeping runners from even attempting to steal bases and had a fielding percentage of .984 (only 3 errors in 191 total chances).
As a hitter, Lott hit .309 with an on-base average of .447. His hitting and on-base proficiency got him moved up to the leadoff position in the season's final month. He drew 16 walks and was hit 13 times. He totaled 11 extra-base hits: 8 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 home runs. He also scored 12 runs as the Eagles' desginated hitter.
Jacob Brigman, P
For the third consecutive year, Brigman is an All-South Region pitcher. The junior southpaw broke the TCJ career strikeout record by recording 68 during the 2026 season, averaging nearly 1 per inning in 75.2 innings pitched. He has struck out 219 batters in his Trinity career, 53 more than the previous record. His 15th of the seaosn was the record breaker, and he still has another year to add to his total.
Brigman again led the team in wins (7) and ERA (4.28) among qualifiers and pitched a pair of complete games.
Congratulations to these four Eagles who have maintained All-Star-caliber play all throughout the 2026 season. Many other Eagles peformed in a deserving manner as well. TCJ turned an 8-16 record into 20-19 by winning 12 of 15 games to close out the regular season. They won the South Region Tournament opener on a walk-off two-run single from Jacob Burke before exiting the tournament and finishing 21-21 overall.
With most of the team slated to return in 2026-27, the Eagles are primed for another outstanding year.
